Early in the morning you will be picked from your hotel in Arusha town drive to Arusha National Park. The park (137km), has terrain ranging from open savannah through acacia scrublands to Afro-montane cloud and rain forest and Afro-alpine vegetation similar to Mount Kilimanjaro. Close to the Safari town of Arusha it is one of the most visiting National Parks in Tanzania and the root of almost all the Tanzanian expeditions. It is the most beautiful and topographically varied game reserves in Tanzania. Some of the highlighting features of this park include the Ngurdoto Crater, Momela Lakes, the highland montane forest, and the rugged Mount Meru which is considered to be the most sought-after things to see on a visit. Although small, the park has a wealth of wildlife including Colobus monkeys, vervet monkeys, bushbucks, buffaloes, red forest duikers, hippos, elephants, and giraffes. Birdlife, especially waterfowl, is abundant and interesting.
